Your DISH
Network warrantee is in the owners manual as well as briefed
below. (This is separate from
our installation warrantee.) |
|
|
In
Warranty
Dish Network offers customers with new
receivers a 12 month warranty from date of activation. The
warranty covers parts and labor. Typically, a customer with a
failed receiver calls Dish Network for a return authorization.
Dish Network will exchange the customers failed equipment for a
remanufactured replacement receiver. (See PS&E warrantee for
added benefit) |
|
|
Out of
Warranty (OOW)
Dish Network offers customers with
receivers that are beyond the 12-month warranty and out of
warranty (OOW) repair service. The exchange methodology
functions the same as an in warranty exchange, except that Dish
Network charges an out of warranty repair fee for the exchange.
There are two tiers for OOW repair fees, one for standard
receivers, one for premium receivers (currently -premium
receivers are defined as a receiver with a hard drive). Right
now, the charge for both tiers is $69.99. |

Extended
Warranty (links to DISH's
page)
Dish Network offers customers extended
warranty protection for $1.99 per month with a 12-month
commitment and a $1.99 initiation fee. The warranty covers all
Dish Network Branded DBS video equipment in the same home as the
primary activated receiver. If the customer is OOW and has a
failed receiver, we (DISH) discount the OOW repair fee by $20 if
the customer signs up for the extended warranty program. |

In Home
Service (IHSP)
In Home Service is extended warranty
protection with on-site service provided by the DNSC
organization. It is slightly different from the SEWP program
mentioned above. Currently, IHSP is only offered as part of the
Digital Home Plan, but there are dedicated efforts to offer this
program a la carte to the entire customer base. |

Exchanging Receivers
Receivers are exchanged primarily via two
methods, Advance Exchange and Post Receipt Exchange. Advance
Exchange (AE) is $14.95, charged to the customer, and covers
shipping both ways. This method allows Dish Network to advance
ship a replacement receiver to the customer - who then places
the failed receiver in the same box, affixes a pre-paid return
postage label to the box, and UPS ships it back to ETC service
for repair. In the Post Receipt Exchange (PRE) method, the
customer ships their failed receiver back to ETC Service. When
Service receives the failed receiver, they ship out a
replacement to the customer. There is no shipping fee for PRE
exchanges. |
